My Son’s House

Luis was a construction worker. Every day, he worked hard on various projects. One day, he was finishing a house for his client, Mr. Martínez. After completing the job, Mr. Martínez said to Luis, "I have leftover construction materials. I’m giving them to you as a thank you for your good work."

Luis felt very grateful. He had always dreamed of building a house for his 15-year-old son, Pedro. With the leftover materials, he could now make that dream come true. Luis had saved money all his life and had bought a small plot of land outside the city.

Luis took the materials to the land. There was wood, bricks, and cement. Every day, after work, he went to the plot to build Pedro’s house. He worked late, carefully laying each brick. He knew this house would be special.

Pedro was very excited. He liked watching his dad work, and sometimes, after school, he helped his father build the house. "Dad, when will the house be ready?" Pedro would ask. Luis always replied with a smile, "Soon, son, soon."

Over time, the house began to take shape. Luis built the walls, the roof, and finally, the windows and doors. Though it wasn’t a large house, it was very cozy and made with a lot of love. Pedro could already imagine living there with his own family in a few years.

One day, after much effort, the house was finished. Luis and Pedro walked in together for the first time. "Dad, it’s perfect!" said Pedro, looking around. Luis was very proud. He had used the leftover materials to build a beautiful house for his son.

That night, Luis and Pedro had dinner in their new house. Pedro was very happy. He knew his dad had worked very hard to build this house. "Thank you, Dad, for all your hard work," said Pedro. Luis hugged him and replied, "All this is for you, son. I want you to have a good home."

From that day on, Pedro lived happily in his new house. Luis continued working in construction, but every time he came home, he felt satisfied seeing the house he had built for his son. He had fulfilled his dream and knew that Pedro would always have a safe and special place thanks to his effort and dedication.
